Nintendo Publishes First Issue of Inside Indie World Newsletter

Nintendo has placed a major focus on indie games this year, holding several Indie World and Indie Partner Showcase digital events throughout the summer and fall. Now, they’ve officially introduced a newsletter which dives even deeper into both beloved classics and upcoming indie titles for the Nintendo Switch.

The first issue of the Inside Indie World newsletter can be read online. The publication is currently expected to release monthly, as the first edition of the newsletter is labeled the “October 2020 Issue”. It’s a quick, fun, easy read – just a few digital “pages” long – but it’s absolutely chock full of information regarding what’s going on in the world of indie games.

The newsletter primarily focuses on titles revealed during last September’s Mini Direct Partner Showcase event, including The Long Dark, Hades, The Survivalists, and the recent Nintendo Switch release of Ori and the Will of the Wisps. A “deep dive” feature shines a spotlight on Raji: An Ancient Epic and its India-based developer, Nodding Heads.

A section entitled “Looking Ahead” highlights several indie titles planned to release in October and November, including far north survival game The Red Lantern, hack-and-slash Torchlight III, mysterious cyberpunk adventure Ghostrunner, and popular co-op title The Jackbox Party Pack 7. Finally, the alliterative “Indispensable Indie Index” introduces fans to some “hidden gem” indie titles which they might not be aware of, including classic 1997 “anti-RPG” Moon, and Bastion, an action role-playing game from Hades developer Supergiant.

If you’re an indie fan, then this newsletter should definitely become part of your regular reading. Learn everything there is to know about the latest indie titles – plus a few which you might have missed.
