Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Start April 24 In US – Console Price Holds, Accessories To Increase

Nintendo recently delayed the pre-orders of their Nintendo Switch 2 system in the United States following uncertainty from ongoing tariff-related concerns. Thankfully, pre-orders have now been announced to begin on April 24 in the U.S., and there will be no price increase on the console. This means that the base Switch 2 console will be $449.99, or it can be purchased bundled with Mario Kart World for $499.99.

Unfortunately, pricing will change on Switch 2 accessories due to “market conditions” state Nintendo. At a glance, this means a $5 increase on most of the Switch 2’s accessories, including the Pro Controller, Joy-Con 2 Set, along with the Switch 2 Camera and more. You can view the full list of new prices over on Nintendo’s official website. Pricing will remain the same for announced games, such as Mario Kart World at $79.99 and Donkey Kong Bananza at $69.99.

The United States will be able to join the fun (?) of pre-ordering the Switch 2 with the rest of the world on April 24!

We are relieved to hear the Switch 2 won’t be suffering a price hike, especially given the already existing online backlash to prices after its reveal earlier in the month. The Nintendo Switch 2 is all set to launch globally on June 5, with U.S. pre-orders beginning on April 24. Pre-orders are already available in other markets, such as Europe. If you’re still not sold on the system, we recently tried the Switch 2 at an event in London, and our early impressions were solid to say the least.

What do you think about Nintendo increasing the price of their accessories, but not the main Switch 2 console? Do you think the $5 increase to most accessories is reasonable, given the ongoing economic situation?
