We’ve all known for a while now that No Man’s Sky is the one game that just won’t give up. After its disastrous launch on PlayStation 4 and PC back in 2016, the game became something of a warning to other developers of everything they shouldn’t do in the lead-up to their game. However, almost a decade later, No Man’s Sky is not the same experience it was, and the players are returning in record numbers.
The most recent of a long line of game-changing updates is Voyagers, which adds the option to create new, furnished and explorable starships. These can even be walked around in and explored whilst in space or flying, creating many comparisons to Starfield – with No Man’s Sky seen as the better option for its years of other upgrades that add to its immersion in exploration not offered by Starfield. Hey, we even wrote a guide on the best parts to choose for your Corvette starship too!
Following the update, over 110,000 players were playing at the same time on Steam and exploring space with all the new features it has to offer. This is the highest peak for the game since its originally catastrophic launch, which had over 200,000 players.

The future of No Man’s Sky seems like a bright one, and it has for many years. Constant free updates given to their dedicated and passionate player base has built sturdy foundations for a solid and enthusiastic community around the title, which is seemingly growing following this spike in players.
