NPD: Top 10 best selling games in the US for September

September brought us some very big games from Super Mario Maker, to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, to Disney Infinity 3.0, to Mad Max, it goes without saying it was a great month for games. But which game was the biggest? NPD Group has released a list of the top 10 best selling games in the US for last month and I must the results are an honest surprise. For the month of September I was honestly picking that Metal Gear Solid V would take the top spot, but the data shows that it was actually NBA 2K16 which took the top spot in the US but where did other games stand in the way of popularity? Well, you can look below to find out each game ranked:

1. NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
2. Madden NFL 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
3. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360)
4. FIFA 16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
5. Destiny: The Taken King (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3)
6. Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
7. Disney Infinity 3.0 (360, Wii U, Xbox One, PS4, PS3)
8. Mad Max (PS4, Xbox One)
9. NHL 16 (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3)

Hi, I am Simon Smith, I am an avid video game fan and love to talk about and discuss games, which is what brought me here. I have been writing about games since 2012, mostly I enjoy spending my time writing about the Nintendo Switch but I also enjoy the 3DS as well as the Playstation 4. These days I cover most things from news, to reviews (I always have something in the works) to random pointless opinion pieces.
