Oblivion Remastered Is The Third Best-Selling Game Of 2025 In The US

The recently revealed – and simultaneously released – The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, has proven to be quite a success. Mat Pictatella via Circana has reported that even after just one week on sale, the remaster of 2007’s Oblivion has become the third best-selling game of 2025 in the United States, only behind Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Sales are counted by Circana in dollar sales, meaning Oblivion Remastered has earned more money in the US this year than any other except the other leading two.

This is a particularly impressive feat given Oblivion Remastered also dropped on Microsoft’s Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass services. If players are subscribed to these services they can access the game without spending any additional money on Xbox Series X|S and PC, so the fact it’s still the third best-seller suggests a big audience on PS5, and many willing to pay to own the game outright on platforms such as Steam.

The release of Oblivion Remastered has been a refreshing trip back down memory lane for some, and a brand new experience for others.

It seems Oblivion Remastered has been a popular release not just for those who enjoyed the original Bethesda release from almost two decades ago, but there’s also many new audiences checking out the game as well. With the success of Skyrim, and the painfully long wait for the follow-up Elder Scrolls VI, then Oblivion Remastered appeared at the perfect to satisfy our Elder Scrolls cravings – for the time being at least!

Have you tried out The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and how big do you think sales for the game can go? Is this a good sign for The Elder Scrolls VI? Let us know in the comments down below, and keep your eyes on GameLuster for more gaming news and sales analysis.
