Last month, Atlus mentioned that details regarding an unknown project known as “Persona 5 S” after the Persona Super Live 2019 Concert. At the end of the concert, ATLUS has officially announced Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, a Warriors series game being developed in part by Koei Tecmo and Omega Force.
Like other Warriors games, Persona 5 Scramble is an action RPG with a beat-em-up fighting style, where players must battle through hoards of enemies at a time. Only a small segment of gameplay is shown in the one-minute trailer, which shows Joker beating up a swarm of shadows approaching him. Players presumably will have access to both weapons and Personas, as Joker is seen wielding his dagger as well as Arsene, his starting Persona. Joker is the only character shown in the trailer, so it is unknown if the other Phantom Thieves will be playable as well, but it seems likely.
The trailer also shows hints at the game having an original plot. The end shows a red-haired youth watching Joker from afar. The narration also says that this “is the start of a new story.”
The game is being released on both the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch, but no information about its release date has been provided.
In other Persona 5 news, we got a new cinematic trailer about The Royale, the upcoming new and improved version of the game.
