Nintendo Announces Release Date for Super Mario Maker 2

Nintendo surprised us all with their last Nintendo Direct when they revealed Super Mario Maker 2 at the beginning of the presentation. What was more surprising was the news that the game would be coming in June. However, no actual release date was provided at the time. But these circumstances have now changed. Nintendo officially revealed when fans of Mario Maker will be able to get their hands on the sequel.

Through their official Twitter account, Nintendo of America has revealed that Super Mario Maker 2 will be arriving on June 28. This means that we have just over two months until the game is in our hands. The release date also puts it a little past E3, as not to be overshadowed.

Super Mario Maker 2 will expand upon the original Wii U game with many new inclusions. In particular, elements from Super Mario 3D World will offer a variety of new options to creators, with clear pipes, the cat bell, and elements that shoot from the background. In addition, the vertical nature of levels has also been improved so creators will be able to build taller levels. There are plenty of options waiting for creators with Super Mario Maker 2, allowing them to create their dream Mario level.

Super Mario Maker 2 will arrive exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on June 28.
