Summer is almost over here in the northern hemisphere, but we’ve still got one more PlayStation Plus Game Catalog update to go! As they do every month, Sony just announced over on the PlayStation Blog which games are joining the Game Catalog this month for all PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. These games will become available on August 19, so you’ve got an entire week to plan which you’re going to try out first!
Leading the pack of August 2025 Game Catalog additions is Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, the legendary game from Insomniac that’s one of the best in the superhero genre. There’s also another heavy-hitter with Mortal Kombat 1 for PS5, the start of a new era in the long-running fighting game saga and a great jumping on point for new fans of the series or returning experienced fighters.
Here’s the full list of PlayStation Plus Game Catalog additions coming to Extra and Premium subscribers this month on August 19, and which consoles they’re available on. There’s two games exclusively for Premium subscribers, which we’ve marked at the end too.

- Earth Defense Force 6 – PS4 and PS5
- Unicorn Overlord – PS4 and PS5

- Harold Halibut – PS5
- Coral Island – PS5
- Resident Evil 2 – PS4 and PS5 [Premium-only PS1 game]
- Resident Evil 3: Nemesis – PS4 and PS5 [Premium-only PS1 game]
