Rare composer teases “huge year” for Rare

Late last year Xbox head Phil Spencer teased us with the idea that Rare had a major game in the works that was “very Rare”, once again we are being teased with a “huge year” for Rare or at least according to Rare composer and sound designer Robin Beanland.

Beanland has taken to Twitter to say “This is a HUGE year for Rare…and these notes,”, adding an image of sheet music in the tweet, perhaps a tease to a new Banjo Kazooie.

The last major thing we heard from Rare itself was that they were “evaluating” what they wanted to do next after Microsoft removed the Kinect from being bundled in. For the past few years Rare’s attentions have been almost strictly Kinect based games with Kinect Sports and the more recent Kinect Sports Rivals, so as a lot of fans say Rare needs to go make another game that is like there glory days on the 64 which would bring in a lot of happy players.

Xbox head Phil Spencer explained they were considering some new ideas and had some games in the works, but did not yet have anything to announce.

If this is a big year for Rare then I would think that they will be doing some work on one of the best known franchises such as Banjo Kazooie or even Conker. Either way if they announce a great game from Rare it might promote more sales of the Xbox One, hopefully they are doing a new Banjo Kazooie game though that makes us forget the awful Nuts and Bolts from a few years ago.
