Red Dead Redemption 2 Becomes Even More Immersive With New Mod

Red Dead Redemption 2 is arguably one of the most realistic games in recent memory, with an incredible level of attention to detail. Now, modders have taken it a step further with the Enhanced Entity and World Persistence mod.

The mod, created by Juliet G on Nexus Mods, aims to make the consequences of your actions a little bit more permanent. We’ve all been there: you cause absolute carnage in a town, leave, then come back to a pristine scene. Juliet G’s mod essentially changes this so your actions will not be immediately undone.

The Enhanced Entity and World Persistence mod also enables you to have more interactivity with Red Dead Redemption 2‘s witness system. In the base game, the witness system was something to be aware of, but you could usually just simply leave before anyone notices a crime or ‘ensure that there are no witnesses’. With the mod, you’ll have to be a lot more proactive with how you ‘conceal the evidence’, as it won’t disappear the moment you leave the town. The mod essentially rewards you for taking the initiative to hide corpses on the road or leave them out of public dwellings.

In terms of the mod’s technicalities, the description notes that objects, vehicles, weapons, horses, and corpses are tracked by default. Wilderness and town entities are tracked differently, with the radius in towns being smaller so it gives a better performance.

The description notes that the mod will run as smoothly as the vanilla game, reading: “Many Optimizations are in place to ensure the game runs as well as its Un-Modded state.”

Juliet G’s Enhanced Entity and World Persistence mod is available on Nexus Mods for PC users.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
