Release Dates For Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn and Yoshi’s Crafted World Announced

While many a Nintendo fan are waiting for the anticipated news of a Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has done something unexpected and announced the release date for two of their upcoming games. The launch dates for Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn and Yoshi’s Crafted World have been revealed.

Upcoming 3DS title Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn, a handheld remake of the classic Wii title, will arrive in Japan on March 7. The North American release will soon follow on March 8. Some information came with the announcement detailing the usage of amiibos, namely Kirby series figures, which will give Kirby different hats and abilities dependent on which amiibo is used. Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn will offer new features not present in the original game, such as King Dedede and Meta Knight, the ability to customize Kirby’s home, and some new abilities known as Ravel abilities for some extra fun.

As for Yoshi’s Crafted World a new story trailer was released that detailed the main drive of his new adventure. The video ends with the release date. The story this time sees Kamek and Baby Bowser setting out to steal a gem-set stone. According to legend, this stone has the power to grant the wildest dreams of its bearer. However, the stones are sent flying across the world, and it’s up to the Yoshis to set out to find them. The trailer revealed Yoshi’s Crafted World will release on March 29. According to a Japanese Nintendo eShop listing, those looking to go digital with this game will require 5.3 GB of space.

Nintendo is starting the year with some of its most iconic characters, but keep in mind that there's more to expect later this year. A new Pokémon RPG is slated for the Switch, and we're still waiting on details for Metroid Prime 4.

In other Nintendo news, a leak and data mine has led to more speculation about the upcoming DLC fighters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. For those interested in third-party Switch support, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen will be coming to the hybrid console.

Will you be picking up either of these Nintendo titles? Let us know in the comments below.

Hi, I am Simon Smith, I am an avid video game fan and love to talk about and discuss games, which is what brought me here. I have been writing about games since 2012, mostly I enjoy spending my time writing about the Nintendo Switch but I also enjoy the 3DS as well as the Playstation 4. These days I cover most things from news, to reviews (I always have something in the works) to random pointless opinion pieces.
