Resident Evil 4 Remake: How To Complete A Savage Mutt Request

Many players are likely to not want to complete a Request that asks them to hunt down a dog. However, the one you’re hunting in the A Savage Mutt Request in Resident Evil 4 Remake is certainly no ordinary dog. In fact, once you lay eyes on this beast, you’d be forgiven for not realizing it was a dog at all!

This early request will be much more difficult than any that came before, which usually just involved finding Blue Medallions or just eliminating a couple of rats. Taking out the mutt is one thing, but finding it is the real problem. Let us be your tracker and let our guide help you complete this difficult request in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

How To Complete A Savage Mutt Request In Resident Evil 4 Remake

Resident Evil 4 Remake savage mutt

The A Savage Mutt Request can be picked up in Chapter 5, and the reward of eight Spinels should tip you off that this one isn’t going to be easy. The request itself sounds simple enough; get rid of a single wild dog, but the note is dead wrong about it being easy to find!

To actually trigger the mutt to appear you need to make your way all the way back to the Village Chief’s Manor. While you’re here, since you have Ashley with you this time, you might as well gather the treasure in the attic you couldn’t get before – an Antique Camera. When you’re armed and ready, head back outside to the gate. You will spot the glowing red eyes of the wild mutt.

Approaching the dog will cause it to retreat, so give chase until you face off at the Village. It acts a lot like a “normal” dog you would fight, but can also use its tail like a spear to stab at you from range. Keep back and lay into it with your most powerful gun and it will go down just like the rest of the enemies you have faced.

Did tracking down and fighting this mutt give you trouble? Either way, you’re in for some even tougher foes coming up, like the Mendez boss battle, which we can also help you out with. Let us know which part of Resident Evil 4 Remake has given you the most trouble so far in the comments!
