Resident Evil 4 Remake: How To Do The Wrecking Ball Skip

You can’t seem to go more than a few feet in a survival horror game without something blocking your path. Whether it be a locked door, puzzle, or just a straight-up wall, Resident Evil 4 Remake throws every roadblock in the book at you. By Chapter 14, you’re faced with a very basic one – a cement wall – but simple doesn’t mean easy to overcome. While there is a convenient wrecking ball nearby, there has to be an easier way through the wall, right?

While you can’t completely remove the need for the wrecking ball, you can trivialize the sequence with a neat trick. You will need some important tools on-hand to do it, so make sure you check out the guide below to demolish that wall in no time!

How to do The Wrecking Ball Skip in Resident Evil 4 Remake

We’ll do our best to omit the Miley Cyrus reference.

The entire point of this sequence is that you need to break through a big concrete wall with a wrecking ball. Normally, Leon would need to protect Ashley inside the machine as she smashes the wall multiple times as enemies continuously rush in to stop you. If you come with some high explosives, specifically either a rocket launcher or at least two heavy grenades, you can nullify this sequence.

With either of those tools prepared, approach the wall and trigger the cutscene. As soon as it ends, instead of going to the wrecking ball, unload your rocket or two heavy grenades at the cracked wall. This won’t fully break the wall, but weaken it to the point where it only takes a single swing from the ball to fully smash through. That alone will save you minutes of fighting, plus all the potential ammo and health you might use!
