Rune Factory 5 Arrives on Nintendo Switch in 2021

The latest entry in developer Marvelous’ adorable life simulation series Rune Factory has been hinted at previously – but, during today’s mini Nintendo Partner Showcase event, we finally caught our first glimpse at footage for the upcoming title. Unfortunately, Rune Factory 5, initially announced for late 2020, has officially been delayed to 2021. However, on the bright side, the game looks absolutely adorable so far!

In Rune Factory 5 — the first main series entry in nearly a decade, following 2012’s Rune Factory 4 the player will take on the role of an amnesiac man or woman who becomes a Ranger in the small town of Rigbar. As a Ranger, the player will be responsible for defending the town from threats posed by wild animals. You’ll level up your combat skills and perform combo attacks with allies to emerge victoriously.

However, that’s far from the only way to spend your days in Rune Factory 5. You can plant and harvest crops, go fishing, interact with the townspeople, and even tame some local monsters to help you explore the game’s huge, multi-colored world. The series’ beloved romance system returns with the ability to court and marry several Rigbar’s most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes! You can have children and start your very own family as well.

Our lives are pretty unstable right now, so escaping into an enchanting fantasy world seems like the perfect solution. Make sure to grab Rune Factory 5 when it debuts next year, only for the Nintendo Switch.

Which part of life in Rigbar are you looking forward to the most? Let us know!
