It’s not every day you see a blunder like this, but SEGA just made quite the mistake on the business side of things. SEGA just released their management meeting slideshow publicly, and unfortunately failed to redact the information that’s conventionally not made available to the public and it’s given us a great insight into how SEGA’s franchises are performing – even if we weren’t meant to know!
On slide 25, SEGA listed a breakdown showing how some games from their biggest franchises have sold, including the likes of Persona 5 Royal, Sonic Frontiers, Yakuza: Like a Dragon and more. As they were leaked by SEGA themselves publicly, we’ll share the list in just a moment with the sales figures that were revealed. If you try to look at the slides now you’ll find that SEGA have hastily greyed out the entire slide with a text box reading ‘some content is currently under adjustment’. As this is the internet however, the data is still widely available.
In the name of public interest reporting and given it was SEGA’s own mistake, here’s the lifetime sales totals that SEGA updated.
- Persona 5 Royal (including remaster) – 7,250,000
- Sonic Frontiers – 4,570,000
- Team Sonic Racing – 3,500,000
- Total War: Three Kingdoms – 3,210,000
- Yakuza: Like A Dragon – 2,860,000
- Sonic Superstars – 2,430,000
- Total War: Warhammer III – 2,340,000
- Shin Megami Tensei V (including Vengeance) – 2,110,000
- Persona 3 Reload – 2,070,000
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – 1,660,000
- Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name – 960,000
