It was a controversial move when Sony revealed that PlayStation Network (PSN) accounts would be required for some of their PC ports of PlayStation titles. Thankfully though, today it was announced via the PlayStation Blog that some of PlayStation’s biggest single-player PC games will have their PSN account requirement be removed. These games include Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarok, The Last of us Part II and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.
The option to link PC games to PSN will instead be optional, and those who choose to link their PC games to their PSN account will gain access to in-game bonus unlocks as a reward, as well as use of PSN’s trophies and friends system. The move to make PSN non-mandatory will hopefully make the affected games available in more territories, as they previously were unavailable in countries that were not supported by PSN. Each game comes with their own bonuses for linking your PSN account, so read on for the full list.
Linking Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will grant early unlocks to both the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and the Miles Morales 2099 suit, with Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered also giving outfit access with the Nora Valiant outfit being available. Linking God of War Ragnarok will give access to the Armor of the Black Bear set for Kratos, along with a bonus 500 Hacksilver and 250 XP, similiar to The Last of us Part II Remastered which gives +50 points to unlock bonus features and extras, along with Jordan’s jacket from the upcoming Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as an Ellie cosmetic.
