Famitsu: Donkey Kong Holds Top Spot For Second Consecutive Week

Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers Jan. 20 – 26, as Donkey Kong Country Returns HD maintained its hold onto #1 with over 35,000 sales in its second week in stores. This is a 67% drop from its launch, and a solid hold for gaming’s most iconic primate!

Elsewhere on the chart, new dark fantasy Metroidvania Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist took both #4 and #8 with its Switch and PS5 releases selling a little over 9,000 and 5,000 units respectively. Dynasty Warriors: Origins took a small tumble compared to last week, dropping one place to #3, as the ever-popular Super Mario Party Jamboree replaced it at #2 thanks to over 18,000 sales.
