The Super Mario Bros. Movie First Trailer Is Here

Nintendo held a Direct dedicated to The Super Mario Bros. Movie this afternoon, and we have our first look at the film in motion. The first teaser trailer can be seen below, as a menacing Bowser begins his assault on the Mario world, starting with the penguins of Super Mario 64.

Mario emerges into the Mushroom Kingdom seemingly unaware of his surroundings, which makes us wonder where it was he came from. He’s soon whisked away on an adventure by Toad, with the ending giving us a glimpse of Luigi on the run from some Dry Bones. The trailer has quite a beautiful rendition of the iconic Mario theme, as it was confirmed in the Direct that the legendary composer Koji Kondo is working with the film’s composer to bring the songs of Mario to the big screen.

This is certainly just a teaser. We don’t have any more details or information to go with it, besides from the film’s confirmed release date of April 7, 2023. We still need to see more, but personally this trailer was quite a nice surprise.
