Treyarch’s Latest Update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Fixes Weapon XP Problem

Treyarch has released new patch notes that will help players level-up weapons faster in Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. According to a blog post from the developers, they’ve fine-tuned changes “to global Weapon XP earn rates across the board.”

With this latest update, players will be level up their weapons and unlock attachments faster across both multiplayer and Zombies mode. Treyarch has further fixed an issue in Zombies that caused lower-than-targeted Weapon XP earn rates in solo matches. They’ve also fixed an issue with a Napalm Burst Ammo Mod which did not award Weapon XP consistently. An “out-of-bounds gap” that was found in Nuketown 84’s map has been fixed too. The glitch, as Treyarch says, “allowed players to stay alive outside of the playable space.”

As the final month of the year beckons, Treyarch thanked the community for their patience, while confirming plans of “even more 2WXP events in December.”

The Nuketown DLC was announced just over a week ago by publisher Activision as a thank you to everyone who’d logged into Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War between the game’s launch and November 20. The DLC is currently available with all purchases of the game until December 4 at 2 AM PT. Nuketown 84 made its debute on November 24.

As previously reported, Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 was extended until December 7 at 11 p.m. PST. Season 6 was originally due to end on November 23. The season’s current battle pass will end just two days before the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s inaugural Season 1 (December 9 at 11 PM PST). Operators Nikolai and Farah, two iconic characters from 2019’s soft reboot to Modern Warfare, are currently available in Warzone Season 6.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC.
