I am sure when the game Watch Dogs was released we were all expecting glowing reviews a 10 here a 9.5 there and so on, instead though the game receieved 7.5’s or worse as was the case with the review done here at Gameluster which gave the game a 7.5. Ordinarily this would pause sales because most of the reviewers have put a red flag on the game even with this being the case Watch Dogs sales are still climbing. As Ubisoft’s latest financial report states they have shipped 8 million copies of the game.
Watch Dogs led Ubisoft to experience higher-than-expected sales of €360 million during the Q1 2014 – 2015 period.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said:
“The success of Watch Dogs and the quality of our games portfolio presented at this year’s E3 highlight our strategic positioning as well as our continuous drive for innovation, and affirm our long-term approach. Watch Dogs is now well-positioned as a major franchise and we will be able to replicate and build on its success in the coming years. Its sales performance testifies to Ubisoft’s expertise as a creator of blockbuster brands.”
