Photos From The Last Of Us TV Series Tease Utah Hospital

New set photos from The Last of Us TV series show the interior of the Firefly hospital, the final location from the source material. Courtesy of a report from ScreenRant, the photos were shared to Twitter by The Last Of Us HBO – Status channel, a fan community posting production updates for the show. There are four exclusive pictures, as seen further below, that reveal grim abandoned hallways of the hospital, otherwise known as the “Firefly Lab”.

Monitors and empty beds occupy corridors in many of the images. In the fourth picture, we can see cabinets covered in blood, crates of grenades, and hazard tents. According to the fan community, filming has reached “the final stage.” The show will wrap filming by June 8, 2022, as previously reported by Game Luster, so this information, while unconfirmed, would fall in line with this date.

In the game, the hospital serves as the final location of the story as Joel brings Ellie to the Fireflies. Joel wakes up to meet with Marlene, who explains that Ellie is being operated on as they speak. However, Ellie must die to create a vaccine for the Cordyceps virus, with Joel going up against the Firefly soldiers to rescue her.

Last week, Game Luster reported that the TV series would establish a backstory before the outbreak – after footage showed protestors and a military convoy in downtown Calgary. Last year, pictures on location revealed streets in Fort Macleod, Canada, standing in for Austin, Texas.

The Last Of Us will star Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Bella Ramsey (Ellie). Supporting roles include Gabriel Luna (Tommy), Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett (Bill and Frank), Storm Reid (Riley), Merle Dandridge (Marlene), Anna Torv (Tess), Nico Parker (Sarah), and Jeffrey Pierce.

The Last of Us charts a journey from Boston to Utah in a post-pandemic US as Joel smuggles an immune 14-year-old, Ellie, to a military group, the Fireflies, to create a vaccine for the Cordyceps virus.
