Cult of the Lamb Gets Nintendo Switch Release in 2022

On May 11th, Nintendo showed its newest Indie World Showcase, introducing Nintendo Switch users to a handful of indie games being developed for the console. One of the games revealed was Cult of the Lamb, a part resource management, part dungeon crawler game from Massive Monster and Devolver Digital.

In Cult of the Lamb, you take control of a lamb saved from sacrifice by being possessed by a mysterious entity. In order to repay him, he asks you to start a cult worshipping him. To do this, you must recruit other woodland creatures through your teachings, as well as your newly-gained powers, and create a community for them using resources you collect. Build new structures and grow gardens, and then reinforce your cult’s beliefs through sermons and rituals to the gods.

A bustling community!

Once your village is established, explore the randomly-generated lands outside its walls. Travel through dungeons, defeating waves of enemies and dungeon overlords to become stronger and collect loot, and then take on non-believers and even other cult leaders to help grow your cult further. Learn about the secrets of the world while spreading your cult and its teachings throughout every corner of it.

With elements of other beloved indie games like Stardew Valley and Hades, along with a disturbing-yet-cute art style and premise described by Games Radar as “what would happen if one of your Animal Crossing villagers developed a satanic cult following”, Cult of the Lamb is sure to be an interesting addition to the genre.

Cult of the Lamb releases for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox one, and Steam sometime this year.
