Resident Evil 4 Remake: How To Complete The Wandering Dead Request

There are no “zombies” in Resident Evil 4 Remake, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be a few cute references to some other famous zombie stories. In this case, the reference is clearly pointing to The Walking Dead, but your target can’t be dealt with like any normal zombie.

Accessible later in Resident Evil 4 remake once you reach the Island, The Wandering Dead Request simply asks you to take out a single “strange corpse.” Should be no problem for Leon at this point in his life, right? Well, this corpse might prove a bit more lively than you expect. This is actually one of the more difficult Requests in the game! Follow our guide to complete this Request and earn your reward!

How To Complete The Wandering Dead Request In Resident Evil 4 Remake

Resident Evil 4 Remake wandering

You can find the note with the Wandering Dead Request after you break through the wall in the Cargo Depot, which you can almost completely pass with a neat skip. The target is identified as being back in the Incubation Lab, which should tip you off as to what enemy type you’re going to face.

On your way to the lab, do yourself a favor and do your best impression of a stereotypical bully from the 80s and shove Ashley in a locker. Trust us, she’s much safer there. Hopefully, you also took out all the Regenerators in that area, because if not, this will get very messy.

The Wandering Dead target, known as an Iron Maiden, will start off in the middle of the room waiting for you to make the first move. Taking a look with your scope, you will notice it has way more parasites than a typical Regenerator. If you can, open the fight by lining up a shot where you hit multiple parasites in one shot, otherwise just do your best and hit them one at a time

Unlike a walking dead zombie, this Iron Maiden moves. You will likely only get one shot off before needing to run for your life, get enough distance between you, then take another shot. If you get desperate, spraying with an SMG can land a lucky shot, but for the most part you should stick with precision shots. Keep in mind that it can also launch projectiles at you, so you need to be on your toes at all times!

Bring this wandering dead’s travels to an end, and you will collect eight more Spinel for your trouble.

Did this request give you as much trouble as it did for us? There are two other challenging requests we have guides on, including the Savage Mutt and the Viper Hunter, that can help you finish up all the requests in Resident Evil 4 Remake!
