Ad Victoriam, Ad Nauseaum: Fallout 76 Roadmap Updated

Fresh off their “Wastelanders” expansion for Fallout 76, Bethesda announced a new roadmap for the game going forward through the rest of the year. Today’s entry on Bethesda’s blog lays out plans for their version of a “Season Pass,” indicating that each season will run for ten weeks with a brief interlude before the next season.

As with games such as Destiny 2  and The Division 2, the Season Pass will have unique rewards tied to your ranking, which in Fallout 76 will be labeled S.C.O.R.E. Daily and Weekly Challenges will no longer award the Atoms currency for players.

They will be undergoing some revisions, though Bethesda points out that you will still be earning Atoms as you increase your S.C.O.R.E. rank. The first season, set for the summer, will be free for all players.  Beyond that, there’s no indication if the Season Pass will be for the year or just a season.

Additionally, the roadmap also hints at upcoming themes and events. A questline slated for the fall will be “introducing” the Brotherhood of Steel and carry through into the winter. Daily Ops will presumably be the replacement for the Daily Challenges.

Bethesda also promises the addition of new high-level Perks in Season 1 and a system of Perk Loadouts in Season 3 to help players further customize their builds. And of course, the winter will also bring some holiday-related activities.

For those players who have a fear of missing out on season-specific content, Bethesda is offering the option to spend Atoms to purchase S.C.O.R.E. ranks. At the initial exchange rate of 150 Atoms, players could theoretically buy their way from 1 to 100.

Bethesda has also indicated that they are looking at making season-specific content available for purchase in the Atomic Shop, but have made no specific plans as of yet. Season 1 will start with Update 20 sometime later this year.
