The latest iteration of the Alan Wake game series, Alan Wake 2, is now available on multiple platforms. It adds significant survival horror elements compared to the previous game – meaning you’ll need to stockpile valuable items However, a limited inventory space restricts this, and you might miss out on some very beneficial items.

How To Upgrade Inventory Space In Alan Wake 2
You can increase inventory space in two ways, depending on which character you have currently chosen to play as: Saga Anderson or Alan Wake. If you are playing as Saga, you must collect some specific upgrade items that are hidden around the world. You can upgrade her inventory multiple times. On the other hand, Alan’s inventory upgrade can be done only once. It requires unlocking special Words of Power called Words of Stuff: Magic Pocket.
Saga Inventory Upgrade Locations
- Saga Inventory Upgrade #1: You will find the first inventory upgrade in the General Store, inside a small side room. The item is kept right under the the shotgun case on the wall. (This is the same place where you fought with the Nightingale earlier in the game)
- Saga Inventory Upgrade #2: Luckily, the second one is easy to find as well. After you meet Alan Wake as Saga Anderson near the Cauldron Lake coast, start walking towards the east to to find brambles you can crawl under. Soon, you will encounter a cult stash, which you must open by clicking on the glowing buttons in the order they light up to get hold of the second inventory upgrade.
- Saga Inventory Upgrade #3: You will find this inventory upgrade in Bright Falls. Use the Boltcutters you acquired after completing the overlap encounter and open the locked door with the writing “Fresh Seafood-Fish & Shrimp.” This will eventually lead you to the hidden cult stash holding the third inventory upgrade. Open the box by using the code 6-9-7.
- Saga Inventory Upgrade #4: The fourth inventory upgrade of Saga’s is not currently available. It will be added to the game once Nightmare mode releases.
Alan Inventory Upgrade Locations
As mentioned earlier, you must have the “Stuff” type Words of Power to increase Alan Wake’s inventory space. The first one you will find by lighting up a torch near the bar counter inside the Oceanview Hotel’s ballroom. The second one is discoverable in the spotlights section on the rooftop of the Poet’s Cinema.
