While playing as Basim in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you must commit various crimes to complete your missions. The developer has implemented the Notoriety mechanic to encourage players to be more stealthy and avoid direct confrontations. If you want to learn more about this system, this guide can explain this topic in detail so you won’t get chased around by elite guards on the streets.
How Notoriety Works In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Your Notoriety level is tied to Basim’s reputation in Baghdad. If you commit a crime in front of a passerby, you will increase your Notoriety and draw unwanted attention in non-restricted areas. The game features three levels of Notoriety:
- Level 1 – Citizens may recognize you in public and call for guards to arrest you.
- Level 2 – Guards and civilians are more likely to notice your presence.
- Level 3 – Elite Shakiriyya soldiers will pursue you relentlessly.
Luckily, you won’t get stuck with high Notoriety, and there are two ways to clean up your bad reputation. First, you can find several Wanted Posters pasted around the walls of Baghdad. The game will mark these important objects on the compass, and they will also glow gold in Eagle Vision.
The second method is to bribe a Munadi using a Power Favor Token. They will usually stand on top of a platform and shout at the crowd. You can also follow torn Wanted Poster icons on your compass and map to find these men in the cities.
I don’t recommend bribing a Munadi to clear your Notoriety because Power Favor Tokens can be quite hard to acquire. The easiest way to get this currency is by completing Contracts, which are limited in the game.
I suggest hunting for Wanted Posters if you’re only at Notoriety levels 1 and 2. However, if you manage to reach level 3 and find yourself getting chased by guards, you should bribe a Munadi to clear your Notoriety immediately.
