An exclusive cinematic trailer for Season One of Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has recently dropped, and it looks certain to pack a serious punch. Old enemies are reunited following a violent assault on a CIA safe-house, as Vikhor "Stitch" Kuzmin, an ex-KGB leader, formerly in charge of the Nova 6 program, prepares to do battle with Russell Adler.
Adler, one of the key protagonists from the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign, was a part of an attack on Rebirth Island, the production site for the Nova-6 nerve gas.
The trailer prepares for a showdown as Vikhor and his forces close in on Adler’s team in a New Jersey shopping mall. Adler and his operatives are “trapped, and surrounded by enough Nova 6 nerve gas to throw the world off its axis.”
The first season of Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was set to go live on December 10, before being delayed to December 16. Before then, there’ll be a Double XP and Double Weapon XP Weekend from 10 AM PT on December 12, up until launch day of the game's first Season. There are also Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War updates due on December 8 and December 15, with an additional Call of Duty: Warzone update rolling out on December 16.
As previously reported, Activision confirmed that Call Of Duty: Warzone had more than 85 million active players, due to a “shared ecosystem business model.” Byron Beede, the Exec VP and General Manager at Activision said: “The momentum over the last year across the Call of Duty ecosystem from free-to-play Warzone as well as post-launch support of Modern Warfare, and now to Black Ops Cold War has been incredible.”
Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
