Call Of Duty: Is A Greatest Hits Map Bundle In The Works?

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II will reportedly bring back classic maps as a premium DLC, according to industry insiders. Prominent leakers TheGhostOfHope and Tom Henderson with InsiderGaming have independently reported that a “greatest hits” collection of maps will be available with Modern Warfare II as an exclusive paid DLC.

A social media post from TheGhostOfHope, who recently claimed several Warzone maps would be removed upon the launch of Warzone 2.0, suggested that the map pack was in development to celebrate twenty years of Call Of Duty. The leaker added that as well as Modern Warfare II maps from 2009, the bundle would include “classic maps from Infinity Ward, Treyarch & Sledgehammer’s catalogue. Meant to be released for MWII Year 2.”

In a separate post, TheGhostOfHope revealed a screenshot listing a handful of maps that may appear in the map pack if the rumours are true. These include Derail, Estate, Favela, Invasion, Karachi, Quarry, Rundown, Scrapyard, and Terminal, to name a few. According to the report from InsiderGaming, they were able to “independently verify” the plan for a premium DLC going into the second year of content for Modern Warfare II

It was recently confirmed that for the first time since the franchise launched, Call Of Duty will be skipping its annual entry for 2023. This would give the respective studios more time to develop smaller projects in place of full-scale, brand-new IPs.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II will launch across all major platforms, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net and Steam on October 20.
