Call Of Duty: Warzone’s The Haunting Of Verdansk Event Begins Today

A trailer for Call Of Duty: Warzone’s The Haunting of Verdansk event has been dropped. Inarguably, it could not be more in the spirit of Halloween, as the trailer reveals Texas Chainsaw’s Leatherface and Saw’s Billy The Puppet, taunting operators with a sinister request to play a game.

The Haunting of Verdansk begins today (October 20), and concludes on November 3. There’s a new “Trick or Treat” reward system, where supply boxes will contain either blueprints and personalization items, or something bad. There’s also a Battle Royale mode with a twist: Zombie Royale, which is described as “an undead twist on Battle Royale where dead Operators use unnatural powers to feast on the living in order to rejoin their ranks!”.

The Saw Bundle includes a “Billy” skin, as well as The Phlebotomozier Lethal Equipment piece, a throwing knife with drilling capabilities, an assault rifle and shotgun, a cargo truck skin, tricycle charm, and extra content. Leatherface, meanwhile, is “set to live on” through the Leatherface skin for Velikan, as well as the “Family Heirloom” LMG blueprint, which includes a stock attachment that modifies a weapon to act like a chainsaw. There’s a suggestion that players may even learn more about the chainsaw-wielding mass murderer’s back story during the event.

Also up for grabs is an “Anybody Home?” melee blueprint (half bone-breaker, half meat tenderizer hammer), an SMG blueprint, vehicle horn, and the “infamous Verdansk urban legend,” Dr. Karlov, someone who “defines the regional Halloween folklore.”

The game store features the “Ghost: Grim Reaper” bundle and Day Of The Dead holiday content. Multiplayer operators will brandish pumpkin heads that come alight if they hit ten kills. Game modes have been changed too, with scarecrows in Domination, skulls replacing dogtags in Kill Confirmed, and “other visual effects themed around All Hallows’ Eve.” Multiplayer further adds new modes: Juggernauts and Sniper Rifles, both described as “high caliber action”.
