Co-Op RPG Haven Will Be Xbox Series X Launch Title

The Game Bakers’ chill role-playing game – adventure hybrid Haven has been officially announced as a launch title for the upcoming Xbox Series X next-generation console. This marks the fifth console for which Haven will be released, following previous announcements of versions for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game, which has been discussed during multiple indie-themed digital events this summer, will also be available for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Windows Store.

Haven tells the story of Kay and Yu, two lovers who work together to restore a beautiful but long-abandoned planet. While it features many staple RPG mechanics, including exploration, item gathering, cooking, and combat, the developers are aiming to create a simplified gaming experience by removing clunky interfaces, endless menus, and number-based leveling and crafting systems. The goal of Haven is to provide a game that is as gentle and relaxing as the aesthetics of the mysteriously abandoned planet.

Haven supports both single-player and co-op experiences, allowing players to explore Kay and Yu’s story themselves or take on the role of the two lovers alongside a friend or partner.

Following its reveal as an Xbox Series X launch title, Haven’s developers released a full ten minutes of gameplay footage rendered in 4K for optimized play on the next-generation console. Check out the brand new footage, which officially debuted during Gamescom 2020, here:

Haven is currently slated for a release in late 2020, but no official date has been announced. This is likely because the Series X itself does not have an official release date either. However, it will hopefully be available for the console of your choice before the end of the year.
