Cozy Co-Op Quilts And Cats Of Calico Coming To Nintendo Switch

It wouldn’t be a Nintendo Indie World livestream without at least one adorable, cozy, cat-filled game – and Quilts and Cats of Calico is no exception. Inspired by the board game Calico, this sweet, colorful co-op title will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch in the Fall, although a specific date has not yet been announced. It is also planned to release for PC via Steam.

Quilts and Cats of Calico is a puzzle game in which players compete to create a quilt by combining different patterns and buttons on a colorful game board. The goal is to attract adorable cats – but each cat has a preferred pattern, so you will have to think it through and consider that with each move you make. Developer Monster House, which previously made a well-received digital version of the board game Wingspan, has promised that Quilts and Cats will feature both the classic Calico experience and new challenges such as rule variations and more.

Up to four players can play Quilts and Cats of Calico together via either local or online multiplayer. A Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required for online multiplayer. According to Monster House’s official website for the game, cross-platform play is planned to be supported as well.

In addition, the game will feature a solo mode against AI challengers, a single-player story mode with a campaign inspired by the works of Studio Ghibli, and ranked matches against random opponents. Rotating weekly challenges will also aim to keep players coming back to the game for new content and puzzles to solve. Plus, you can even customize the cats, changing their fur color, eye color or tail fluffiness, or giving them adorable accessories such as hats to wear!

If you’re a cat fan, then you should definitely consider checking out Quilts and Cats of Calico when it arrives on Nintendo Switch this fall. And if you can’t wait until then, you can find the physical board game on Amazon or in board game stores near you!
