Dark Souls Trilogy Slashes its Way to PS4 and Xbox One

Bandai Namco made an exciting announcement at this week’s Gamescom event. From Software Game Director Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Dark Souls series is being bundled together for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The trilogy is set to come out on October 19.

The very first of the game in the series, Dark Souls, was critically acclaimed and was awarded game of the year by Electronic Gaming Monthly, Game Revolution, IncGamers and Q-Games. Gaming publications such as Eurogamer, Edge, Gamespot, PALGN, and Telegraph gave Dark Souls 9/10 ratings or above.

Dark Souls is indeed claimed to be one of the best action role-playing games by critics, but it is a difficult game. It is so hard in fact that it received mixed reviews from gamers when it launched. The second and third games didn’t make the challenges any easier. It’s safe to say it may not be for everyone, but if an immersive yet trying game is your cup of tea, then this is your chance to experience this award-winning series. Check out the all new trailer below:

PS4 and Xbox One will be getting all three games of the series — Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition — with all of the downloadable content. The trilogy will debut in a steelbook case for the two consoles on October 19. It will cost a hefty $80, but considering it’s three games in one, then it’s understandable.
