Today, the developers of Dead by Daylight at Behaviour Interactive have announced that they want to address the “many longstanding concerns and frustrations experienced by players”, and so will be delaying the upcoming chapter of new content, in favor of new quality of life update patches that will fix some of the issues that have plagued (no pun intended) the game for years. The quality of life updates will delay the new chapter by about three weeks, so it’s not too long a wait for potentially some big changes.
The first quality of life update rollout will add a ‘surrender’ feature, where once all Survivor players are down, or all survivors are bots, players can use the surrender option to end the trial early with no disconnection penalty – and keep their bloodpoints! They will also introduce the ability to adjust gamma settings to make the game more visible, add more disincentives to both those who try and intentionally die in a difficult game and reward those who stay, as well as prevent players from camping all game and drawing out matches for the sake of it.
The first quality of life update phase will also adjust how characters spawn, how map offerings work, add the ability to spend bloodpoints in bulk, new quest systems, perk presets – and that’s all just phase one! You can read more on the official forums exactly what else is coming to the game in the coming months. All this for just a small delay on the upcoming chapter of new content, we’d say that’s worth it.
