The process to get Skill Cards in Dead Island 2 is an easy one. You will need to progress through the main game storyline, which includes completing main story quests and side quests and participating in specific events. This will reward you with a number of useful Skill Cards.

Additionally, some of the rare Skill Cards are hidden somewhere in the explorable regions of the map. So, make sure not to leave any unexplored areas or you might miss out on a few!

In total, there are five categories of Skill Cards: Abilities, Innate, Survivor, Slayer, and NumenInnate Cards are part of a character’s starting abilities, but the rest must be unlocked throughout the game. Category – Ability

The Ability Skill Cards have five sub-categories, which are:

Defense Skill Cards

  • Block: You can get this Skill Card by completing one of the early game missions, Desperately Seeking Emma.
  • Dodge: This Skill Card is also rewarded for reaching Level 9.

Jump Kick Skill Cards

  • Drop Kick: You can unlock this Skill Card by participating in the Bel-Air Brawl mission.
  • Flying Kick: This Skill Card is given as a reward for reaching Level 7.

Special Attack Skill Cards

  • War Cry: This Skill Card is unlocked by completing the fifth main story mission, Room Service for Major Booker.
  • Dash Strike: You can unlock this Skill Card by reaching Level 17.

Fury Skill Cards

  • Blood Rush: This Skill Card unlocks automatically once you gain access to Fury Mode.
  • Street Brawler: To obtain this Skill Card, complete the side questline It Came from Monarch Studios.
  • Served Cold: Make sure to complete a side questline Coast Guardian in Venice Beach to obtain this Skill Card.

Fury Special Skill Cards

  • Overhead Smash: To unlock this Skill Card, you need to participate in one of the main story questlines, The Final Gauntlet, using Ryan or Carla as your playable character.
  • Spitting Cobra: You can get this Skill Card by participating in The Final Gauntlet main story mission with Jacob or Dani as your playable character.

Category – Innate

All Innate skill cards are part of a character’s starting arsenal. Each character starts with two Innate Skill Cards. All Innate cards are generally good, because the character will always have access to them.

Category – Survivor

  • Vivisuction: On reaching level 19, you will get this Skill Card as your reward.
  • Short Fuse: To acquire this Skill Card, you need to complete the Boz Makes a Bang side quest in Monarch Studios.
  • Pain Magazine: You can acquire this Skill Card by reaching Level 28.
  • Ravenous: Butcher Zombies have a chance to drop this Skill Card when defeated.

Dead Island 2

Category – Slayer  

  • Deadeye: You can obtain this Skill Card by reaching Level 17.
  • Clear Sightlines: You can find this Skill Card on table in one of the Monarch Studios: Sound Studio 7.
  • Volatile: You need to kill a specific Zombie type, Bursters, to collect this Skill Card as a drop item.
  • The Limb Reaper: You are required to reach Level 14 to get this Skill Card as your reward.

Category – Numen

  • Corpse Blossom: You need to finish the main story questline, The End of the Line, to obtain this said Skill Card.
  • Born Survivor: By participating in the The Search for Truth questline, you can get this Skill Card as a reward
  • Glass Cannon: To obtain this Skill Card, you must finish the questline The Art of War.
