Dirt 5 Has Been Confirmed As A PS5 Launch Title

DIRT 5 has been confirmed as a launch title for the PlayStation 5, meaning that the game can be played from November 12 in the US and other territories, before being released to the rest of the world from November 19.

DIRT 5 is also due to be release on PlayStation 4 from November 6, with a free upgrade to the PS5 also available. However, this won’t include cross-save capability, so it’s advised to keep that in mind.

According to an official Twitter post for the game, DIRT 5 will include cross-gen online with PS4 players, and options for 4K and 120FPS support. They further promise faster loading times and confirm that the PS5 edition of the game will be compatible with DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

The game’s official website further outlines what can be expected from the next-gen version on Xbox Series X. DIRT 5 has been optimized for Microsoft’s next-gen console to produce greater graphical fidelity, and will be supported by Xbox’s smart delivery.

DIRT 5, as mentioned previously, will not feature a cross-save function, meaning that players will not be able to transfer their data from one console to the other.

On the subject of cross-save, Sony’s Hideaki Nishino cited that the decision to incorporate the feature would be a “developer decision”. In a recent PlayStation.Blog post, he said: “The ability to transfer game saves between a PS4 version and a PS5 version of the same game is a developer decision and will vary title by title for cross-generational games,”

Dirt 5 will release on Xbox One and PS4 November 6. It will then release on Xbox Series X/S November 10, and PS5 November 12.

In other PS5 news, Burger King recently teamed up with Sony to give 1000 fans a chance to win a PlayStation 5 console. The event began on October 16, concluding on November 22.
