Famitsu: Mario Kart World And Donkey Kong Bananza Dominate Sales Chart

Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart is a double week after Famitsu were unavailable last week, and so it covers August 4 – 17. As expected, the clear winner of the two combined weeks is the unstoppable Mario Kart World, selling an additional 145,000 units in combination with the 179,000 Switch 2 systems sold.

Merging weeks also resulted in a favorable chart position for Donkey Kong Bananza, securing #2 on the chart thanks to an additional 60,000 copies sold in the two week period. It had previously started to drop on the Famitsu chart, so this shows potentially promising legs for the game which has now sold over 267,000 units total.
