Famitsu: Mario Kart World Returns To Top Spot

Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers September 1 – 7, as Mario Kart World speeds back up to the top spot. After spending a week out of the top three thanks to a wealth of new releases, the latest in the Mario Kart series sold over 38,000 units this week, and takes over once more.

However, there’s another release hot on Mario‘s tail, as Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots releases on both Switch and PS5 taking spots #2 and #3 respectively. The Switch release of the game sold over 35,000 copies, being just a few thousand units away from Mario Kart World. Combined, Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots sold over 51,000 copies, and would’ve taken first place would Famitsu combine sales – but they don’t!
