Far Cry 6 Leak Reveals Story, Synopsis And Giancarlo Esposito

A leak via Hong Kong’s PlayStation Store appears to have revealed the cover art, synopsis, setting, and release date for the upcoming Far Cry 6.

The cover art appears to confirm recent rumors that Giancarlo Esposito (best known as Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) will serve a major role in Far Cry 6, and by the looks of it, the game’s primary antagonist.

The Hong Kong PS Store page for Far Cry 6 was shared by Twitter user anjohn0422. The same page has been shared in a thread on Resetera, translated into English.

The leaked synopsis for Far Cry 6 reads: “Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Their ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution.”

The thread cites that players will assume the role of Dani Rojas, a local Yaran, before becoming “a guerrilla fighter to liberate the nation.” The description goes on to read: “fight against Anton’s troops in the largest Far Cry playground to date across jungles, beaches, and Esperanza the capital city of Yara.”

Far Cry 6, as the leak suggests, will further support Smart Delivery from the PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5. A free upgrade is available with the PS4 digital game for “Polar Cry 6”, the PS5 digital game.

This is the second leak that’s hit Ubisoft this week, after 30 minutes of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla gameplay appeared online this Tuesday.

This Sunday, Ubisoft will be hosting their Ubisoft Forward event. Games including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Hyper Scape, and Watch Dogs: Legion will be among the new titles showcased, as well as “a few other surprises.” Plus, Ubisoft will be giving away Watch Dogs 2 completely free. To grab a copy, all players will need to do is sign into their Ubisoft account on July 12 (the day of the showcase), and it will be theirs to download and keep.

Ubisoft Forward begins July 12, at 11 am PDT / 7 pm BST.
