With the arrival of Warzone 2.0 yesterday, November 16, the Call of Duty community said their goodbyes to the original Warzone, which launched in March 2020. Across Reddit, the community has been making their farewells to the popular multiplayer mode, despite the fact the original battle royale isn’t actually going anywhere.
One player shared a landmark moment to Reddit, capturing gameplay footage from the moment they reached 5,000 kills in the original Warzone. This commendable achievement came just one day before the launch of the brand-new Al Mazrah map for Warzone 2.0, the biggest one ever created for the shooter series. It’s a fitting way for this player, HeyGuysImPresto, to make the transition over to the new iteration.
Had 4999 kills, so I joined a match before Warzone ends to get one final kill with my favorite weapon at my favorite Caldera location

In another clip shared to the Warzone Reddit channel, a player shared gameplay from their favourite drop into Verdansk, the original iteration’s map. After landing in a warehouse, the player is challenged to a firefight against two opponents. They down the first successfully before a cargo truck runs over the second. The truck attempts to kill the player without leaving the vehicle.
Miraculously, the player survives for more than a minute before destroying it with a rocket launcher, only to be killed by a low-flying helicopter moments later. This illustrates the chaos and fun that you can have with Warzone. There’s even a meme from the ‘so long partner’ scene from Toy Story 3, but instead of Andy driving away in his car, Woody is saying goodbye to an image of the original Warzone‘s splash art.
