After passing through the Mythril Mine, you can enter the Junon area, which contains numerous interesting locations. Among them is Crow’s Nest, which can be found on the east side of the map. Unfortunately, you cannot enter this settlement at the start since the guards will drive you away for being strangers. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Unlocking Crow’s Nest Guide
You can gain access to Crow’s Nest in FF7 Rebirth by completing the When Words Won’t Do side quest. This mission will become available after you spend time at Under Junon and progress the main story.
I won’t spoil the story, but the game will inform you when new side quests become available. You can start this mission by picking it up at the notice board or directly speaking with Rhonda.
Your task will be to escort Rhonda’s dog, Salmon, to Crow’s Nest to deliver some money for her son. Don’t worry; the dreaded escort mission is not that terrible. Salmon is quite smart and will stay away from monsters that attack you.
You will get into several fights, but the most dangerous one will occur near Crow’s Nest. A pair of Sandstorm Drakes will ambush your group, and you can attack it with Wind spells or abilities.
The monster will get pressured when you destroy the aura that surrounds it. However, be warned that a tornado will spawn whenever you attack this aura.
You also need to watch out for Petrify status ailment. If you fail to cure it with Esuna, you can completely turn to stone, which can render you incapacitated.
Once you kill the two Drakes, you will reach Crow’s Nest and meet with Rhonda’s son, Dillan. Completing the When Words Won’t Do side quest will grant you these rewards:
- Mythril Ore x3
- Ruby x2
- Sharpshooter’s Companion Vol. 1 (Barret SP x10)
- Relationship Points with Barret
- Party EXP
- Character EXP
