Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach Available Today For Nintendo Switch

Today’s Indie World livestream event was filled to the brim with exciting announcements, from Crypt spinoff Rift of the NecroDancer to free updates to Cult of the Lamb to the long-awaited release date for Mineko’s Night Market and more. One announcement that few fans were expecting – but many were happy to see! – was the reveal that horror title Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is finally making its way to the Nintendo Switch. Not only that – it’s available to purchase and download TODAY!

Initially released in 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC, Security Breach later saw 2022 debuts for Google Stadia as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Today’s release marks the first time the game has been available on Switch, where it joins other Five Nights at Freddy’s titles including several previous main series titles and the spinoff Ultimate Custom Night.

Security Breach features a new protagonist, a young boy named Gregory, who is not trapped inside a single pizzeria but instead the massive mall “Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex.” It features free-roaming gameplay based around surviving only a single night instead of the usual five – but don’t think that makes it any less scary or difficult than previous games starring Freddy! The game includes new animatronics such as Montgomery Gator, Roxanne Wolf, and the 1980s-fabulous Glamrock Freddy – who may just have a different goal in mind than previous incarnations of Freddy Fazbear players may have encountered.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is currently available for players to purchase via the Nintendo eShop. It costs $39.99 USD. Series creator Scott Cawthorn has also indicated that he is working on a DLC for the game, tentatively titled Ruin, which may be released later in 2023. Do you think you can survive the horrors of Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex? Maybe not….but you can now give it a try on the Nintendo Switch!
