Free David Beckham Ultimate Team Card Coming To FIFA 21

EA will be giving away a free David Beckham card to FIFA 21 Ultimate Team players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This offer does not extend to Nintendo Switch players.

For anyone who plays FIFA 21 between December 15, 2020, and January 15, 2021, David Beckham will be available for FUT and as a Groundbreaker within FIFA’s Volta football mode. Throughout this limited time offer, the standard edition of FIFA 21 will be rebranded as the “Beckham Edition”.

The Legacy Edition of FIFA 21 on Nintendo Switch performed poorly. While the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One accounted for 62% and 36% of sales respectively, the Nintendo Switch pushed out a measly 2%. In reality, FIFA 21 on the Switch is just a rehashed version of FIFA 18’s Legacy Edition, the first title to arrive on the console in 2017, and it’s a trend that’s stuck for the past four years, minus the necessary updates to squads and kits. It is perhaps due to these reasons that the offer does not extend to players on the less popular platform.

Digital download launch sales for FIFA 21 were the highest across the entire franchise, as recently reported, with the latest installment selling almost a third more copies than FIFA 20, shifting more digital copies over physical versions.

Elsewhere with FIFA 21, it was recently announced that the game would not include Elland Road, the home ground of recently promoted Leeds United, due to the late conclusion to the Premier League season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

EA said: “The later than planned end to the 2019/20 season meant we weren’t able to recreate Elland Road in an EA SPORTS FIFA game for the first time ever in time for the launch of FIFA 21”

FIFA 21 is available on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, and will later be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S.
