If you’re a member of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) online community, then you have probably seen messages pop up stating Grand Theft Auto VI is to be released in 2019. The message has been said to read “Rockstar Message GTA VI Coming 2019” for both GTA Online and Reddit too. Turns out the so called release date is just a hoax.
Members of the GTA online community reached out to Rockstar via Twitter to confirm whether the messages were real. Rockstar sent out a tweet stating the messages were faked. It seems a hacker created the launch dates using mods.

It only makes sense that the messages were fake. After all, if you’re a fan of Rockstar you would know it isn’t like them to send out just a message via online gaming for their biggest hit series. Especially when they have just confirmed a release date for Red Dead Redemption, which is set to debut on October 26, 2018. Check out the trailers for both GTA VI and Red Dead Redemption 2 below.
