Hitman’s full disc copy will not be available until 2017

With the next Hitman game coming as an episodic release people who prefer to have disc based games will have to wait until 2017 to get hold of the game.

Square Enix previously announced that the game was getting set for a physical release towards the end of 2016 but have pushed it back because:

“This year is all about delivering the best episodic experience for Hitman and that takes us to Autumn/Fall. Releasing the disc version in January just makes sure we have enough time after the season concludes to dedicate to getting the best disc version of the game out.”

A representative from Square Enix shared the details with IGN providing a pretty reasonable excuse.

The first episode of Hitman, Paris, releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC tomorrow, March 11. Episode 2, Sapienza, arrives in April. And after that, Episode 3 Marrakesh is out in May, before heading off to Thailand, the United States, and finally, Japan

For those looking to go digital, there are several buying options available. The Intro Pack, which contains both the prologue and Paris costs $15 with additional locations costing $10 each. If you’re looking to upgrade having bought a map pack previously, there’s the Upgrade Pack for $50. Or, if you want everything on offer, the Full Experience is $60.

Personally I would wait until 2017 for the full experience to release on disc.
