Legend of Mana Remaster Coming to Nintendo Switch

Time-honored Square RPG Legend of Mana is finally getting a remaster after 22 years, as announced at Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct showcase. This newest remaster in the Mana series follows on from remakes of the first three games in the series, with Adventures of Mana in 2016, Secret of Mana in 2018, and Trials of Mana in 2020. The latest game will release on Nintendo Switch on June 24.

A number of new features have been added for this remake, including a rearranged version of the original soundtrack, with the option to switch between the original music and the new version. Also, players will be able to switch off random encounters, a feature that has – for better or worse – become commonplace in remakes and remasters of older RPGs. Finally, a new mini-game named “Ring Ring Land” will be available to players as a new Tamagotchi-style addition to the game.
