Meet Your Maker is a game of two parts: raiding other players’ outposts, and building up your own. Playing as a Custodian, you serve a… thing called the Chimera that acts as your guide and only hope for finding a cure for the disease that has killed off just about everyone in the world.
Levelling up the Chimera is how you can expand your toolset in both of the game’s main modes. The process is a little convoluted, so we’ll be your advisor on how to earn those sweet unlocks.
How To Level Up Your Chimera In Meet Your Maker
The confusing part about levelling up your Chimera in Meet Your Maker is that you don’t do it directly. Instead, the way to level up your Chimera is through levelling up your Advisors. Advisors are the other characters in your base that each offer different upgrades to purchase, including new weapons, suits, and hardware to take on raids, plus traps and guards for designing bases.
Each of the Advisors levels up as you collect their respective GenMat types through raids. You can see which type the raid will reward you with before you begin, and once you get enough, that Advisor will level up. Additionally, after beating three raids, you unlock the opportunity to take on a Champion Outpost that gives you GenMat in every type, making it the most efficient way to level up your Advisors.
Once an Advisor is leveled up, you do need to pull the switch next to the Chimera for it to gain that level.
