Sonic Frontiers is the blue blur’s first open-world adventure. Earlier this year, developer Sonic Team showed off its newest game during its month-long IGN First coverage. During this showcase, we got a much-needed look at the premise and idea of Sonic Frontiers. The latest adventure for the blue blur will take him to the massive island of Starfall, where he will uncover secrets and fight new enemies.
The first gameplay trailer wasn’t without criticism, with many fans worried about the game’s emptiness and overall quality. As more gameplay premieres made their way out, Sonic Frontiers had fans asking more questions with few answers. However, we will be getting another look at Sonic Team’s new Sonic game at this year’s Gamescom.

Game Awards host Geoff Keighley announced on Twitter that Sonic Frontiers would showcase a new look and more news on the opening night of Gamescom. With the latest Sonic game aiming for a November release, Gamescom will be the ideal way to give fans another good look at the game.
So far, we’ve seen Sonic Frontiers‘ Starfall Island, this part of the game is massive with rails and jumps to get around the island at Sonics breaking speed. In addition, we got a look at the combat and the different enemy types in the game. Most notably, the tall alien-like structure named ASURA, this enemy looks like something straight out of Shadow of the Colossus. The final thing Sonic Team introduced to fans was the cyberspace levels; these levels take Sonic on an alternate reality detour from Starfall Island.
