Nature’s In Your Own Backyard in Garden Simulator

Designed for those who are stuck inside and feel themselves longing to see some green, Garden Simulator is the latest from indie studio PRODUKTIVKELLER and publisher SunDust. In this relaxing simulation game, players start with a barren yard that they are challenged to turn into a gorgeous garden filled with fruits, vegetables, flowers, and more. Every element of the backyard gardening experience is reproduced, from the initial clearing of land to harvesting and selling the final product.

Players will start by mowing and cultivating their lawn, removing trash, and setting up a fertile space to plant their garden. Then, they’ll choose between dozens of plants including sweet fruits, tasty vegetables, and colorful flowers to create their own unique and personalized garden. From there, players can water their crops, keep them safe from weeds, and accessorize the yard using decorative items ranging from rocks to furniture to toys. They can also choose to sell the products from their garden to purchase higher quality plant food as well as new decorative items with a variety of themes.

One of the many kinds of flowerbeds you can create.

Garden Simulator’s developers, inspired by both the realistic environments of the Farming Simulator series and the laid-back pace of Stardew Valley, have strived to accurately recreate the look of your own backyard. You can turn plain green grass into a garden featuring a riot of colors — but you’ve got to make sure to organize and frame your beds, water your plants, and keep away insects and other nasty pests.

Currently, a free demo of Garden Simulator is available to download on Steam as part of Steam’s Next Fest, a celebration of upcoming games featuring hundreds of demos for upcoming titles as well as live streams, developer Q+As, and more. The full version of the game is currently anticipated to release later in 2022.
