A new Pokémon has been announced for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
Nintendo has revealed the new mythical Pokémon, Zeraora. Known as the Thunderclap Pokemon, Zeraora is an electric type. According to Nintendo, Zeraora gathers electricity from outside sources and emits strong electrical currents from the pads on its hands and feet to create a powerful magnetic field. It then uses this magnetic field to levitate and move at extreme speeds. Zeraora is said to be so fast that its max speeds can match that of lightning bolts. When Zeraora uses massive amounts of electricity for a powerful attack, the fur all over its body stands up.
You can check out a sneak peek of Zeraora in the trailer below. The trailer shows us what Zeraora will look like in-game, though not much else is shown. There is no word on when other details will be revealed for Zeraora, or when it will be released.
Zeraora will be featured in the upcoming movie, Pokémon: Everyone's Story, which releases in Japan on July 13. We should expect new details and distribution methods for Zeraora by then. There is no word on when the movie will come over to North America.
Everyone's Story is the 21st movie in Nintendo's anime series. The film will star Zeraora, as well as Lugia. Everyone's Story is a part of the new continuity that started with the I Choose You! film in 2017.
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are available now for the Nintendo 3DS.
