Persona 5 Scramble Will Reportedly Be Getting a Western Release

Koei Tecmo and Atlus’s collaboration Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers brought the lovable phantom thieves of Persona 5 into the intense, enemy-filled hack-and-slash setting of Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors series. The characters use their Personas — physical manifestations of their inner selves inspired by famous literary and mythological beings — to engage in real-time combat battles against various corrupted enemies within an alternate version of Tokyo.

Scramble released in Japan for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on February 20, 2020. It generally sold well and later received a broader Asian release for Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.  At first, fans were unsure whether or not the game would receive a Western version, especially as the Dynasty Warriors franchise is significantly less prevalent in the West.

However, Koei Tecmo’s recently-released financial reports seem to indicate that Persona 5 Scramble is coming to North America and Europe after all. The title is listed under the upcoming  “Packaged Games” for the fiscal year beginning in April 2020 and concluding in March 2021. Both a PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch version of the game is mentioned in the presentation.

Unfortunately, the game itself has not yet been released, nor has a release date been confirmed or even announced. However, Koei Tecmo’s report does seem to confidently indicate that an English version of Persona 5 Scramble is on the horizon.

In recent years, the Dynasty Warriors franchise has become known for its collaborations with other popular video game series. If you just can’t wait for Persona 5 Scramble’s Western release to get a taste of that classic Warriors-style gameplay, you could try out Hyrule Warriors (featuring characters from The Legend of Zelda), Fire Emblem Warriors, or even One Piece: Pirate Warriors, based on the long-running anime and manga series.
